The Education and Training Principles
  • To act according to the principles of international standards in education and teaching,

  • To educate individuals, who can contribute to scientific developments, and can be transferred to human and economic added values with interdisciplinary approach,

  • To adopt an active learning approach, which is based on continuous progress,

  • To establish an educational environment which supports individual and social development,

  • To adopt the  skills and competencies in addition to the knowledge in the process of monitoring the success and evaluation,

  • To control the education and training process in line with the cycle of "Planning-Implementation-Controlling-Taking Precautions".

Internationalization Principles
  •  To increase the number of internationally recognized courses taught in foreign languages,

  •  To increase the number of international students, to diversify the countries of incoming  students,

  •  To increase the number of mobility activities of students (study abroad and training), academic and administrative staff (training and teaching mobility),

  •  To increase partnerships ,cooperation, scientific research and social activities with universities internationally,

  •  To encourage the activities which are going to increase international reputation of research projects of the outputs such as publication/license/patent.

The Quality Assurance Principles

The quality assurance policy of our university, according to university's mission and vision, is to improve educational level, research capability, development of institutional capacity,enterpreneurship and to manage the processes in the academic and administrative units,  by focusing on goals at  fields of social contribution. According to the policy, our department aims

  • To establish a quality assurance system at international level which continuously evaluates, develops, analyzes itself,

  • To focus on continuous update of the level of all processes with teamwork,

  • To keep the participation and satisfaction of shareholders to quality processes  at high level.


The Research Principles

Concentrating on being esteemed and pioneering research university at both national and international levels by its own abilities such as interdisciplinary and qualified research,entrepreneurship, high qualified education and the services which are aiming to provide benefit for the public, with the honor ofsharing the same title with Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and keepingthe education and training, and research institutions, which have trained Republic's pioneer teachers and researchers by its own structure;

  • Prioritizing the underlined field of studies in line with the social development aims, by focusing on health, engineering, technology, science, education and arts, which are  required by both our country and  the region,

  • Making an effort in order to gain the highest value by following the results and outputs that belong to studies- supported by external funds due to national and international collaborations, having the quality of research and development and intervening to process when is necessary,

  • Sharing the knowledge with the thought of social contribution from huge range perspectives such as from education to technology, basic sciences to health sciences, research-development and riggings of product development,

  • Making the sustainability of entrepreneurship and innovation by transferring to economic value, the outputs of high-level scientific researches conducted in cooperation with the university-industry-government, in line with  our strategies,

  • Using efficiently the internal and external resources in the prioritized areas  to be supported and strengthened research infrastructure,

  • Organizing the activities, which focus on develop the competences of the researchers  so as to use funds effectively and increase participation to nationally and internationally supported  programs,

  • Prioritizing the permanent improvement, monitoring the outputs of researches and benefits under the measures of performance checks which are specified in strategic plan,

  • Improving of the scientific wealth by making the research as a core point of education for both academicians and students, who are located at the educational programs from the whole levels,

  • By establishing sustainable education-science ecosystem, by contributing benefits to the process of lifelong learning and development with the using of information and technology under the light of benefit for humanity principle,

  • With all stated above, the department has adopted itself to the principle that to be a leader and guiding department in the fields of education and science, which is managed to lead the society under the world conditions which are rapidly changing and related with the mind of educating the individuals qualified at questioning, analytical problem solving who are also respectful of national, moral, cultural and humanitarian values.

The Social Contribution Principles

The department accepted as a main principle that the information produced to be contributed to the society by internal and external stakeholders, and contribution to lifelong learning and development process and the mission and vision accepted to become arespected university both national and international platforms. According to this view, in order to provide development of national and international and also service to society which is based on politics, economy, social, cultural, education and fields of technological fields, it aims

  • To fulfill educational activities which are shaped according to needs of society and contribute for increasing the level of widespread of social responsibility,

  • To contribute to regional development by making scientific researches and consultancy for the fields of economic, social, cultural, education and technology,

  • To contribute to the culture-making which focuses on lifelong learning process and to become skillful in learning,

  • To contribute to regional development by preparing projects and transferring them to the daily life with cooperation in local authorities,

  • To contribute to the regional development by announcing the products, technological innovations and applications, which are made by technology development centers, technology transfer offices and support activities of research-development offices, to the business environments and provide education programs to meet the needs of qualified workers,

  • To contribute  not only to the training much more well-qualified scientists by conducting academic researches with cooperation of university and industry during the period of academic year but also to the studies which focus on meeting the needs of the industry,

  • To contribute so as to get high level awareness about environmental problems by taking solution-oriented precautions and make suggestions,

  • To make contribution to explore, protection and developments the cultural wealth of the region with researches,

  • Under the scope of health services, to give information focusing on protection of health and increasing the quality level of health and provide services at the whole stages of health problems,

  • To encourage  sport activities for a healthy life, and to provide opportunities of accessible sport activities for all parts of the society,

  • As a university which defines itself that its prior principle is to be respectful of human being, Gazi University accepted as a principle to dedicate itself for individuals with special needs not only by making activities which are related with education training, social and cultural but also the development of physical infrastructures for them.

The Distance Education Principles

In addition to being one of the first higher education institutions of the Republic, Gazi University continues its path without compromising the quality education that it has offered, being pioneers in many fields, which has the expertise and a vision of a research university, in the field of distance education;

  • In order to access qualified and comprehensive education which is one of the goals of sustainable development to regulate the online education process continuity without interruption, the continuity of all these process by taking account of opinions of internal and external stakeholders,

  • Following the outputs and achievements of the online education and provide sustainable development by using performance measures,

  • Prioritizing the sustainable monitoring and improvements and establishment of required distance education programs at the fields which are needed by today’s world in cooperation with academic units and foreign partners,

  • Taking into account of students’ motivation and conditions by providing learner-centered approaches and methods with alternative evaluation methods related to distance education and at this point, increasing the technologic and pedagogic competences of academic staff in relation to this process,

  • Providing complete and uninterrupted online mediums of student guidance, academic advisory, career and social support,

  • By putting the lifelong learning at the center, providing trainings which are needed by university staff and students, in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders. And providing  continuous online access to these trainings, fulfilling necessary improvements according to feedbacks,

  • By running smart technologies( artificial intelligence, data mining, machine learning, deep learning, learning analytical etc.), making Research and Development activities to improve online education and training process more effective and providing the follow-up of the results,

  • Has adopted as a principle which is; the data of e-learning which have occurred at the digital area. Saving these data to consider dimensions of information security, data processing besides that sharing of these data will be shaped by the same principles as well,


Management System Principles

According to the fundamental values and vision in order to reach strategical objectives and aims capable to carry leadership to society, aiming to educate individuals who are respectful of national, moral, cultural and humanitarian values, looking for originality in science, being critical in the fields of research, education and technology subjects, by being at the service for necessities of society and humanity, with both reformist structure and administrative system, the department aims

  • To ensure the quality and sustainability for the goods and services that supplied by itself,

  • To establish a qualified and inclusive education and teaching and research-development process,

  • To accept the principle focusing on establishing a system which could work appropriate for regulations and services equally for all partners.
